Adviza Partnership is registered charity and company limited by guarantee based in Bracknell, Berkshire, providing careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) and related supported services for children, young people and adults, particularly those who are most vulnerable and needy. We aim to change lives by inspiring people to make better decisions that help them progress in learning and work. Our passion is to provide intensive support for young people and adults at important times in their lives where key decisions need to be made; to raise aspirations and motivation to help everyone achieve their full potential.
At Adviza our vision is for all young people and adults to make better decisions that help them to progress in learning and work and achieve their full potential. People with confidence in their ability to perform career management activities are more likely to be active job seekers, have strong career identities, and a greater success rate of converting job interviews into job offers. Our mission to make a positive difference for all young people and adults so that they have the best possible chance to progress successfully in learning and work. This is, of course, set within the context of our charitable purpose (objects) . At the core of what we do is a care and concern for the most vulnerable people in society. We do this by providing intensive support (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) and other related services, such as youth counselling, healthy lifestyle advice etc.) for young people and adults, particularly at times of key life transitions (e.g. when choosing GCSE or A-level options, leaving school, after redundancy, or when seeking a career change). Against the Grain also has a second (dual) primary purpose, which is to protect the environment through reuse and recycling or household goods. Everything we do is predicted on, and driven by strong values. We: • Are passionate about making a difference for all young people and adults and care about their futures. • Engage with young people and adults to understand their needs and support them to achieve their goals. • Champion equality, accessibility and simplicity. • Expect high levels of energy, passion and commitment from all our staff. In return we trust them and invest in their development .
We are a learning organisation that adopts a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) approach. We were the first guidance organisation in England to ensure all guidance staff are trained to QCF6 in Advice & Guidance as a pre-requisite to working in schools and local authority contracts. New staff are offered a learning pathway to QCF6.
