HaloSource, Inc. (HAL.LN, HALO.LN), the global clean water technology Company traded on London’s AIM, today announces its initiative to benefit international nonprofit Water.org and support the organisation’s mission of bringing water and sanitation to the world through the sales of its hydration brand astrea®.
This charitable initiative begins in India, where astrea® recently launched as the first consumer-facing brand from HaloSource, a global leader in clean water technology. HaloSource expects to donate a portion of its sales from astrea® drinking water purification products in India to Water.org’s efforts.
James Thompson, Chief Executive Officer of HaloSource, commented:
“Today, HaloSource technologies power devices that purify water for millions. Our new astrea line of hydration products are built on a continued commitment to champion solutions to the international water crisis, and it’s fitting that our support of Water.org begins in India – where we have been tackling the water challenge with our purifying technology since 2006. As we are continuing our mission to bring our water purification technologies to places that need them most, we’re proud to support Water.org to help scale their efforts to use small, affordable loans to make safe water solutions a reality for those living without access.
At its core, HaloSource is passionate about providing water purifying solutions that make a difference. As a water technology company, we feel an obligation to find other ways to give back to the greater need – especially to organisations cultivating drinking water solutions in communities that lack access to financial resources. No organisation does this better than Water.org, and we are proud to be supporting its worldwide efforts.”
Since its origin in 1990, Water.org has worked to explore and scale market-driven solutions to help end the global water crisis. They currently have programs and people working in 14 countries, including India, where they have helped provide safe water and sanitation access to more than four million people across 12 states.
Melanie Mendrys, Water.org’s Director of Brand and Marketing, commented:
“Water.org and HaloSource share a vision for a day when everyone has access to safe water. We admire HaloSource’s commitment and are grateful to be a beneficiary of the newly launched astrea product line. We are grateful that HaloSource, through astrea, places such a high value on corporate citizenship – working hard alongside us to fight the global water crisis through both innovation and philanthropy. This kind of passion fuels social change and we are very excited to work with an organisation that has values so complementary to our own.
On 27 September 2017, HaloSource announced the launch of astrea® – its first consumer-facing line of purifying water solutions – in India. The Company expects the brand to feature water pitchers and reusable water bottles that use patented technologies to make drinking water safe to drink through the elimination of biological contaminants. Donating a portion of India’s astrea sales to support Water.org’s water sanitation efforts to bring water and sanitation to the world is further evidence of HaloSource’s commitment to addressing the global water crisis.
